Slowly I am picking the Amtrak rides off, one by one. This one was called Palmetto 90.
It was also my favourite weather pattern when we set out at 7.30am: Fog.
I love the way the train cuts such a practical path through the country. It’s not like they planned a scenic route to lay the tracks down on. The train goes where it goes and you see what you see. I like capturing images on the move and making photographs that look like paintings so this method really works for me. Also because my phone geo stamps the location information onto each image, I can tell you that this first image is The Ashepoo River.
The Ashepoo River is a short blackwater river in South Carolina. It rises in a confluence of swamps south of Walterboro, flows in a southeast direction and empties into Saint Helena Sound at 32.49°N 80.42389°W.
